Our story
Our love story began while working at Cured Craft Brewery. When we first met, Aaron thought, "Wow, she must be young, she has a scrunchie on her wrist," and Brooke thought, "Wow, he looks young to be the head cook." Turns out after they finally started talking that Brooke was the older one and Aaron was, in fact, the younger one. Even though Brooke and Aaron are only 3 years apart, Aaron will fight to his deathbed that we are "technically" 5 years apart. But "tomatoes, tomatoes"

While working together, their after-work drinks with everybody turned into after-work drinks with some coworkers, to after-work walks with just the two of us. Our love story started during COVID, so there was no "official" date, unless the riverfront counts. Our fancy dinners consisted of takeaway, our movie dates consisted of Teleparty, and late-night walks on the beach consisted of sitting by the Belle River marina watching the sunset.

After finally making it official on April 3rd, the next chore was meeting the family. As you probably know, Brooke has a HUGE family, so we definitely had to work on that, and Aaron's family is small"er." Brooke met Aaron's family first by spontaneously going to his parents' house for dinner. This was the first time meeting the family and Annie, and the first time having schnitzel. Brooke was very nervous, and on the way home, we had a debrief about how it went. When meeting Brooke's family, we started with O'Brien Side Road and worked up from there. Aaron first met Heather and Aunt Elaine when he was forced to try Uncle Bill's gravy with a spoon after Easter, and then added the rest of the street one by one.

As the years went on, Brooke's dad had this idea about building small, and for the months following that conversation, our love for tiny houses grew. We looked at modular homes, homes on wheels, professional builders, until we settled on a pole barn and subcontracting out every one of Brooke's dad's friends. After only 4 short months, it was time to move into the home that we still live in now. This house is perfect for us, and Finnegan agrees as well.

On our first big trip away, Finnegan had his first consecutive overnight sleepover at his Grand"paw"rents, and we headed off to Europe for 2 weeks. Venice was our first stop, and we fell in love with the canals. Aaron knew this was such a beautiful place that he hired a photographer, Elise, for July 1st which he where he popped the question on one of the beautiful bridges overtop of the canals. Of course, she said yes, and from there they got to experience their engagement trip.
Even though it sounds romantic and stress-free, this was not the case for Aaron, as his original ring did not come in on time, and the day before we left, he had to rummage around Windsor-Essex to find a ring to bring with him to propose with. It all worked out in the end, as the real ring was too big anyway.

Which brings us to the journey of wedding planning and why you are reading this story...We can't wait to celebrate with you :)
Our Journey

June 2022 - Our First House
April 2024 - Finnegan
July 1st - Engagement
While starting my first "Serving" job at Cured Craft Brewery, our head cook came in to buy a 6-pack of beer and was shocked that I did not ID him, being that he was only 19 at the time.
To late-night drives, long walks by the river and small dinners at the Belle River Marnia, our love started to grow.
Our "Tiny" adventure begin in March of 2023 with the help of lots of local friends and family, and especially Chris for having all the connecting. After 4 shorts months are house was complete and we were able to move in.
We added our best addition to our little family and introduced our fur baby, "Finnegan James," to the world. He is full of energy, terror and cuteness all in one.
Over one of the beautiful canals in Venice, Aaron got down on one knee with the "Vacation" ring and proposed.
